Golborne is an 11-16 High School catering for the full ability range and serving the townships of Golborne, Lowton, Abram and Platt Bridge.

The campus is extensive with mature grounds, spacious playing fields and first class all weather facilities.

We established a House system in 2006 with vertical tutor groups containing pupils of all ages. This provides a caring environment overseen by Form Tutors and a Head of House who is also a member of the teaching staff. Pupil Services has a dedicated team supported by our own Education Welfare Officer and with close links to external agencies. Pupils receive guidance on all matters relating to healthy lifestyles and careers through strong links with Connexions and other external agencies.

We are constantly striving to provide opportunities and courses for pupils that will engage them and prepare them for life and their future career. We have strong links with local primary schools and the post 16 sector. Vocational pathways are developing constructively.
